About Hunte

Teaching guitar for over 8 years has taught me that every student’s journey is unique and requires a tailored approach. I focus on creating lessons that balance technical development with creative exploration, helping students build solid fundamentals while keeping the process engaging. From finger placement and chord changes to rhythm and timing, I emphasize core skills that enable confident playing. Alongside this, I integrate music theory naturally, using songs students love to illustrate concepts and keep motivation high. One particularly rewarding experience was helping a student move from struggling with basic strumming to performing confidently at local community events. I encourage improvisation and songwriting, helping students find their own voice on the instrument. Technology such as backing tracks, loopers, and recording tools play a key role in making practice enjoyable and effective outside of lessons. Above all, I cultivate a positive and patient environment where mistakes are embraced as learning opportunities. Whether your goal is casual playing, live performance, or composition, I’m committed to guiding you toward a lifelong passion for guitar.

About the lesson

Guitar lessons should feel like a collaboration—not a lecture. I treat every student as an individual, with their own musical tastes, strengths, and ways of learning. My goal is to create a learning experience that’s engaging, encouraging, and tailored to you. Instead of following a rigid curriculum, we co-create a path that reflects your musical goals.

If you love classic rock, we learn the songs and techniques that define that genre. If you're into indie, folk, metal, blues, or songwriting, I adjust my approach accordingly. This keeps learning exciting and grounded in music that matters to you. I emphasize motivation and emotional connection to the instrument—because those are the real drivers of progress. You’ll never be stuck wondering why we’re doing something; every exercise and concept ties back to something meaningful. I also teach you how to work through difficulties.

Whether it's tricky rhythms, finger strength, or musical creativity, we approach challenges with patience and strategy. I don't offer empty praise or pressure. I give respectful, constructive feedback that helps you understand exactly how to improve. Learning should feel empowering, not discouraging. I believe in flexibility—if one method doesn’t click for you, we try another. If you learn best by hearing, we use ear training.

If you need visuals, we use diagrams and shapes. If you thrive with theory, I’ll take you there at your pace. My teaching also includes support in improvisation, songwriting, and performing. I want you to be not just a better player, but a more confident musician overall. No matter your age, background, or reason for learning, you’ll find a safe, focused, and motivating space in my lessons.
