About Mark
I have taught and tutored before in English language, however I do not hold any formal music qualifications. You will find me a knowledgeable practical with every lesson. I offer a friendly and relaxed approach to learning, and above all one which is enjoyable. My aim will always be for you to get the maximum out of your lessons, whether as a hobby or one day professionally.

I have been playing guitar for over 20 years, covering everything from popular music, to jazz and classical guitar. I provide students with the basic knowledge to take the instrument in whichever direction they choose. I will teach anybody from someone holding a guitar for the first time, to the more advanced player looking to expand their knowledge.
To begin with I teach basic chords/ scales, some theory and how to read music. But ultimately I want you to enjoy the instrument from day one, to learn some familiar tunes and how to make them your own.
To begin I would encourage you to closely listen to examples of the music we play, to learn to train your ears as well as your hands.
My first lesson is always free for me to tailor further lessons to your level and requirements. Available one to one or online, I offer friendly and enthusiastic lessons. I am available in Glasgow during the week for one hour lessons, or Edinburgh at weekends, and can travel in both areas within a 20 mile radius.
