About Amy
With more than 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring mathematics, I bring a strong combination of professional expertise, classroom experience, and a genuine commitment to student success. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Butler University and a Master’s degree in Math Education.
My experience working with students across a wide range of abilities allows me to provide organized, reliable, and personalized instruction. Families can feel confident knowing their student is working with an experienced educator who understands both the mathematics and how to effectively teach it.

If your child is starting to believe that they’re “just not a math person,” I want to change that.
I’ve been teaching and tutoring math for more than 20 years, and one thing I’ve learned is that most students who struggle with math aren’t incapable of learning it.
They’re often missing a skill, an explanation, or simply the confidence to keep going when something gets difficult.
That’s where I come in.
My lessons are about more than helping students finish their homework or prepare for the next test. I take the time to figure out what a student understands, where the gaps are, and what is getting in the way of their success.
Then we work from there. I don't believe in simply showing a student how to do a problem and moving on. I want them to understand why it works, practice it in different ways, and eventually be able to look at a new problem and think, “I know what to do.”
I work with students on everything from foundational skills and current classwork to test preparation and getting ready for the next level of math.
My lessons are personalized, supportive, and structured around the individual student, not a one-size-fits-all program.
And yes, we’ll work on the math. But we’ll also work on something just as important: confidence.
My favorite moment isn't when a student gets the answer right.
It’s when they look at a problem they used to be afraid of and say, “Oh… I get it now.”
That’s why I tutor.
