About Joshua
I have a Master's Degree in Philosophy from Duquesne University and Bachelor's Degree in the same subject from Seattle University, where I graduated magna cum laude. I have over 5 years of teaching and tutoring experience, working with students from middle school through graduate school. I am proficient at teaching writing, editing, history, philosophy, political science, and English, and English as a second language.

I always prefer to teach using the Socratic method, that is, by asking questions in an attempt to prompt the student to reach an answer on their own accord. This method leads to better retention of information and the ability to deploy concepts in critical thinking exercises, as opposed to simply on tests.
