About Anna

With over 5 year of experience teaching IELTS, my goal is help students get the score they need to study in the country of their dreams. It is truly satisfying hearing from students who have achieved the score they need to get into the institution of their choice. That is what makes this job worthwhile. I believe in always being encouraging, but not sugar coating advice. It should be realistic so that students are aware of their weaknesses and be provided with support to reach their goals.

About the lesson

Initially, we will have a chat on the needs of the student. A diagnostic test will be done on listening, reading, writing and speaking. Lessons will be tailored accordingly. Each lesson will be between 1 to 2 hours depending on the student's needs. Typically, each lesson starts with the aims of the class, a warmer on the topic covered. Answers will be elicited from the student before looking at a model along with chunks of language to use. Then there will be practice followed by constructive feedback to help improve student answers.

I am CELTA qualified with over 7 years of ESL teaching experience and 5 years of IELTS experience.

My classes are aimed at students who have a sufficient level of English ready to take the IELTS. It is a skill based class so if students need to focus on improving their English level, taking general English classes would be highly recommended before attempting to take IELTS.

My classes are for students aged 18+ onwards. If required, I am fluent in Cantonese with conversational Mandarin if extra support in another language is required.
