About Ed
I have instructed and tutored university level students for more than ten years. I have worked for building science and construction consultancy firms and founded a business based on knowledge of building energy performance.
I also published research in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, involving work with computational thermo-fluid dynamics and partial differential equations.

I can deliver effective lessons for learning and improvement of assessment in all modules of high school physics and mathematics, such as optics and thermodynamics, and trigonometry. I can deliver effective lessons for learning and improvement of assessment in university-level courses in architecture and engineering, such as structural mechanics, combined fluid and thermodynamics, and building energy systems.
A typical lesson plan will build on your impressions of where you need improvement and desirable learning outcomes. I illustrate high-school level concepts like refraction, heat transfer, and derivation of curves, with clear explanations that make easy connections to practical experiences and problems. I use easily digestible visual media to drive engagement and fulfil learning outcomes. For advanced concepts or engineering applications I show the connection between the governing principles, underlying equations, and modern computational approaches (e.g. 3D Multiphysics modeling software).
I also offer guidance for high school and new university students considering or pursuing AEC careers.
