About Hooman
Since 2002, I have been tutoring students of all ages and backgrounds for various tests and subjects, including the SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, Regents and AP exams, as well as high school and university math and science. I pride myself on my personable manner and my ability to relate to students of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of their aptitude. My students have hailed from top public and private schools across Long Island and NYC and have gone to attend some of the nation's most prestigious colleges.
My qualifications include a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Cornell University, where I was a Dean's List student, as well as post-graduate research experience in biochemistry at Long Island's Brookhaven National Laboratory, where I investigated chemical reactions of a key enzyme from human adenovirus. My students typically see SAT score increases of 150 to 200 points (Math and Reading combined) and ACT score increases of 3 to 4 points (Math, Reading, and Science combined). My own SAT scores were in the top 2% nationwide.
