About Felipe

I'm originally from Spain and have been living and working in the UK for many years. I have a background in History and Education, and I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK. I've been teaching Spanish in British schools for nearly six years, and I really enjoy helping students make progress and seeing their confidence grow.

Before becoming a teacher, I worked in other professional fields, which gave me a broad range of experiences and helped me develop a practical, patient and understanding approach to working with people.

I'm friendly, approachable and easy to talk to. I understand that learning a language can sometimes feel frustrating, especially when you know what you want to say but can't quite find the words. I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and learning at their own pace.

Outside teaching, I'm passionate about music and culture, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge of Spanish language and culture with others.

About the lesson

My lessons are all about helping students feel more confident in Spanish and achieve the grades they are aiming for. I have been teaching Spanish for nearly six years now.

I currently teach Spanish at Bristol Grammar School in the UK, where I work part-time, with A-level tutoring speaking and grammar being my main focus. I know how challenging exams can be, and I understand what examiners are looking for. I aim to make lessons relaxed and enjoyable while still working towards clear goals.

With A-level students, we can work on speaking exams, essay writing, grammar, translation, and the study of Spanish films and literature. For GCSE students, I can help you build confidence, improve your Spanish and feel better prepared for your exams.

Everyone learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit each student. We focus on the areas you find most difficult, whether that's grammar points such as the subjunctive and imperative, tricky Spanish expressions, or pronunciation. These are all areas that students often struggle with, and I enjoy helping them understand how Spanish really works and how to use it more naturally.

I'm originally from Castilla, in central Spain, and I have a clear, standard Castilian Spanish accent. This means I can also help you improve your pronunciation and develop a more natural way of speaking Spanish.

My aim is simple: Give you the tools to learn Spanish at the level you required, feel more confident and walk into your exams knowing you have prepared properly.
