About Simon
As a fully qualified teacher I have the most recent training available for a candidate including a diverse range of activities and strategies for assessment for learning and have been teaching full time for 3+ years. I have had multiple opportunities to experiment and develop a wide range of engaging and productive activities in teaching Psychology, sociology, history and PSHE. I have a strong ability to differentiate in my teaching and now this is one of my main strengths because of the diversity of ability and languages in my classes. I have developed this from my practice at a mixture of independent and state schools. I am acutely knowledgeable in how to work with students with SEND and take extra care that I support all my student’s differential needs. I would also make a suitable teacher as I genuinely have a passion how psychology explains behaviours and I would like to encourage this in my students. Since November I have been tutoring in my spare time, I have found this very rewarding as it's an opportunity to further develop/strengthen my subject knowledge while helping more students with the subjects I'm passionate about. During this time I have quickly built up a good client base, had several students coming back for repeat lessons with good feedback.

Lessons usually follow the following format and last for 60 minutes. Retrieval based activity - 15 minutes Teacher input on the subject - 20/30 minutes. Exam practice focusing on planning or writing exam questions 15/20 minutes. Setting targets/discussing next week's tutor lesson - 5-10 minutes
