About Yan

My name is Yan Xia, and I am from Beijing, China. I have never stopped teaching Chinese, either in China or in the UK, because I truly love my profession and am passionate about helping people who are interested in learning Chinese and discovering Chinese culture. It is very rewarding to see my students achieve excellent results in Chinese examinations, and some have even gained the qualifications to teach in China because of their proficiency in Chinese. Seeing their progress and success gives me great satisfaction and strengthens my determination to continue helping students learn Chinese to the best of my ability.

About the lesson

I teach Mandarin online using PPTs, videos, games and interactive activities to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Each lesson lasts one hour. I graduated in Chinese from Beijing Education Institute and obtained a qualification to teach Chinese as a foreign language in England. I have experience teaching GCSE, A Level, National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher and HSK. My lessons are suitable for learners of different ages and levels.
