About Rebecca
I currently teach 1st grade and love playing musical instruments, spending time with my niece and nephews, cooking, reading, swimming, going on walks, and all kinds of art! I love sports especially the Boston Celtics.
I love to implement my own interests as well as interests of my students into my lessons. (i.e., basketball-related math problems, reading about a specific animal, practicing reading comprehension with well-loved characters, etc.)

I strive to create lessons and activities that are engaging, target specific skills, and meet your child's needs. I have a strong background in teaching phonics and the science of reading. I teach math concepts with real-world connections and break down concepts that our earliest learners can grasp. I'm a kind and encouraging teacher who believes all children are capable of success! I've taught K-2 and tutored 1:1 for about 8 years. I work best with students ages 4-10! I have an early childhood teaching license and a Master's Degree in literacy both from Framingham State. A typical lesson would include explicit instruction of a concept, guided practice, and independent tasks all with scaffolding and adjusting as we go!
