About Faye Madeleine
Learning Math and Science can be challenging, but with the right guidance, difficult concepts can become much easier to understand.
I am an experienced educator with over 7 years of teaching experience, including 2 years of ESL teaching experience. I hold a degree in Agricultural Chemistry, am a licensed Chemical Technologist, and have passed the Civil Service Commission Professional Examination.
I specialize in helping high school students strengthen their understanding of Mathematics, General Science, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. I also provide preparation for PSHS High School Entrance Examination, college entrance examinations, and the CSC Professional Examination.
My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their skills at their own pace. I focus on understanding concepts rather than simply memorizing formulas or answers.
Whether you need help catching up with lessons, strengthening your foundations, preparing for an important examination, or becoming more confident in Math and Science, I will work with you to create lessons suited to your learning needs.
Let's make learning clearer, more manageable, and more meaningful—one lesson at a time.

My Approach as a Tutor
I believe that effective tutoring is not just about getting the correct answer. It is about helping students understand why the answer is correct and giving them the confidence to solve similar problems independently.
My approach is concept-focused, student-centered, and practice-based. I adjust my teaching style according to the student’s current level, learning pace, and specific needs. I use clear explanations, guided examples, visual aids, problem-solving exercises, and practice questions to make difficult concepts easier to understand.
My Teaching Method
I usually follow a simple progression:
Understand → Practice → Apply → Improve
I first identify what the student already knows and where they are having difficulty. I then explain the concept in a simple and organized way, work through examples together, and gradually allow the student to solve problems independently. I also encourage students to explain their reasoning so I can identify misconceptions and strengthen their understanding.
A Typical Lesson
A typical session may include:
• A short review of previous lessons
• Introduction or review of the target concept
• Step-by-step examples and guided practice
• Independent problem-solving
• Feedback and correction of misconceptions
• A short recap or practice activity to reinforce learning
For exam preparation, lessons are more focused on concept review, problem-solving strategies, practice questions, and test-taking techniques.
What Sets Me Apart
With over 7 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students with different learning needs and academic levels. I aim to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes because these are important parts of learning.
I don't simply give students the answers. I guide them through the process so they can eventually solve problems with greater confidence and independence.
Who My Lessons Are For
I primarily work with high school students who need support in:
• Mathematics
• General Science
• Chemistry
• Biology
• Physics
I also offer preparation for PSHS High School Entrance Examination, college entrance examinations, and the CSC Professional Examination.
Lessons can be tailored for students who need help catching up with lessons, strengthening their foundations, preparing for examinations, improving problem-solving skills, or simply gaining more confidence in Math and Science.
