About Emily
Above all, I value radical authenticity and a liberated sense of self-expression. I bring these principles into the classroom every day, and I hope to impart these tenets onto all of my students. I also try to foster a sense of independence in the quest for knowledge, because I believe that self-sufficiency is the key to a life well lived.
Caring for my students is my number one priority in the classroom. Whether students are struggling, have special needs, or just need some support, I am passionate about helping them reach their goals to the highest level.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy learning about logic, philosophy, and music. I am a lifelong multi-instrumentalist, and my favorite instrument to play is the drums. I have a son named Lucius who is one year old and a 13-year-old cat named Remi. They are my motivation to continually better myself and achieve my goals.
I enjoy teaching so much because a need to help others has always been a large part of my personality. I am also a person who is driven, ambitious, and goal-oriented, but I do place a high value on relaxation and free time to be used for personal enjoyment.

I am an experienced classroom teacher who holds a Master's degree in Education and Teaching from the #1 Master's of Education and Teaching Program in the nation, where I earned a 3.95 GPA. My undergraduate degree is in Philosophy with a Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental certificate.
I am certified to teach all subjects, but my favorite area to teach is Mathematics. Additionally, I am certified to teach full inclusion classrooms for students with disabilities, so instructing students with a variety of needs and accommodations is quite familiar. I am passionate about tailoring my own lesson plans to the learning abilities of my students, no matter how specific their needs.
The ideal learning environment that I facilitate is comfortable and relaxed, where all students feel worthy, competent, and motivated to learn. My lessons are rigorous and require tenacity, but I ensure that all my students succeed and learn to the best of their ability.
As a teacher, I care deeply about my students, and I work hard to ameliorate their knowledge in all areas in which they require assistance. Students should never have concern if they do not understand a topic, because together, we will not give up and will overcome any obstacle before us.
