About Chinthana

I didn't start out planning to be a math teacher. But somewhere along the way, I realized that the thing I enjoyed most wasn't solving problems myself — it was watching someone else's face when a concept finally made sense to them. That moment when confusion turns into clarity. That's what kept me in the classroom, and that's what brings me here.
I'm Chinthana, a math teacher based in Sri Lanka. I teach math every day as my profession, covering Edexcel Higher, Cambridge IGCSE, and SAT Math. I'm also someone who creates math content online — which means I've spent a lot of time thinking about how to explain things in a way that actually sticks, not just how to get through the syllabus.
I'm a jack of all trades by nature — curious, self-taught in a lot of areas, and genuinely enthusiastic about learning. That background shapes how I teach. I don't assume there's one right way to understand something. If the first explanation doesn't click, we find another one.
My lessons are relaxed but purposeful. I won't waste your time, and I won't make you feel small for not getting something. Math has a reputation for being cold and intimidating — I think that's mostly bad teaching. The subject itself is logical, satisfying, and very learnable.

About the lesson

I teach math the way I wish someone had taught me — by making the logic visible. Rather than handing you formulas to memorize, I walk through the why behind each concept, drawing and explaining step by step until it clicks. My background spans Edexcel Higher, Cambridge IGCSE, and SAT Math, so I can meet you exactly where your syllabus is.

Every session is visual and interactive. I use a graphics tablet and digital whiteboard so you can watch concepts being built from scratch in real time — not just read off a static slide. I adapt on the spot: if one explanation isn't landing, I come at it from a different angle. I focus heavily on exam technique alongside understanding, because knowing the math and performing under exam conditions are two different skills.
