About Charles
I have a master's degree in computer science, and many years of experience developing software to solve mathematical problems. I provide in-home math tutoring to high-school students, and on-demand help in calculus to college students. I work with students from all levels - some who are gifted in math and need to be challenged, others who find it difficult and just need to get through a course.

My teaching methods depend entirely on the student. If possible I like to guide students to discovering mathematical principles on their own, but often it's best to present the method for solving a particular type of problem, develop the student's proficiency, and only then to offer insights - but I always seek to help a student understand what he or she is doing, as opposed to carrying out rote steps by memory.
