About Ejumevwo Kelvin

Hi! I’m Kelvin, a dedicated math tutor with 14 years of experience helping students go from “I don’t get it” to “I actually understand this.”
I specialize in high school (Grades 9 –12) and first-year university math. Whether you’re struggling with algebra, preparing for calculus, or need help with statistics and probability, I break concepts down into clear, step-by-step explanations that stick.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly personalized. I focus on building real understanding rather than memorizing formulas, so you can solve problems confidently on your own — especially during tests and exams.
I’ve worked with students of all levels: those who need foundational support, students aiming for 90%+, and those preparing for provincial exams, AP, IB, or university courses.

Every lesson is tailored to your needs and learning pace.
Here’s what a typical session looks like:
• Quick review of previous material and homework questions
• Clear explanation of new concepts with real examples
• Guided practice with step-by-step problem solving
• Tips and strategies for exams and common mistakes
• Extra practice questions or summary notes after the lesson

I adapt to different learning styles (visual, verbal, practice-based) and always check for understanding before moving on. Students often tell me they finally “get” topics that used to confuse them after just a few sessions.

Levels taught:
• Middle school / Grades 7–8
• High school (Grade 9–12) – including Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, Data Management
• University / College (Calculus I & II, Linear Algebra, Statistics, Finite Math)
• Test & exam preparation (EQAO, provincial exams, midterms, finals)

Subjects:
Mathematics • Algebra • Calculus • Trigonometry • Geometry • Statistics • Pre-Calculus • Problem Solving

Why Students Choose Me
• Patient and non-judgmental — no question is too basic
• Focus on understanding, not just getting the answer
• Help with homework, assignments, and exam strategies
• Flexible scheduling (evenings and weekends available)
• Clear communication with both students and parents
• Proven track record of improved confidence and higher marks

I offer a free first lesson so we can meet, discuss your goals, and see if we’re a good fit — no pressure.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I have had an innate passion for mathematics from my primary school days. I was always in the lead in my class and received the best mathematics student award. I organized free maths tutorial classes for my classmates struggling with maths in secondary school. I continued helping students who needed support in maths as an undergraduate student and started getting favors from them in appreciation for helping them. The kind favor I received now serves as great motivation for me to continue doing the good work of assisting anyone struggling with mathematics.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

I want to see students who once struggled with mathematics become masters. I want them to see maths as a lovable subject. I want them to be well prepared to succeed in math effortlessly by understanding the underlying concepts.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

What I like about tutoring is seeing my tutees with a clear understanding of concepts that once looked opaque to them in maths. I have helped 100% of my students succeed in maths. That makes me a Superprof.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

One of my mathematics lecturers during my undergraduate studies was a great inspiration. He practically made mathematics fun for me. His classes were never boring for once, and I never studied so hard to pass his courses because his lectures were crystal clear. He automatically became my role model as I fell in love with teaching.
  • What are your keys to success?

The keys to my success include but are not limited to these: patience, passion, strong interpersonal relationships, good communication, punctuality, respect for others, quick understanding, etc.
