About Taniya
My name is Taniya, and I am a dedicated mathematics tutor with formal academic training and hands-on experience teaching students from Grades 1–12. I have worked with a wide range of learners, from students who struggle with fundamentals to those aiming for higher academic performance in Ontario math courses.
I am known for being patient, well-organized, and results-oriented. I take my responsibility as an educator seriously and always prepare lessons based on each student’s level and goals. My name is Taniya, and I am a mathematics tutor with experience teaching Grades 1–12, following the Ontario curriculum, with a stronger focus on Grades 9–12 academic courses. My teaching approach is structured and mastery-based, inspired by Mathnasium methods, where concepts are broken down into clear, logical steps instead of memorization.
A typical lesson begins with identifying learning gaps through targeted questions, followed by concept explanation, guided practice, and independent problem-solving. I focus heavily on building problem-solving accuracy, mathematical reasoning, and student confidence.
What sets me apart is my ability to diagnose why a student is struggling and fix the root issue, not just help them finish homework. My lessons are suitable for students who want to improve grades, strengthen fundamentals, or prepare for tests and exams.
