About Jaya

Hi, I’m Jayalekshmi, a Bachelor’s in Mathematics graduate with strong skills in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Trigonometry. I’ve spent several years helping students understand complex concepts, building not only academic knowledge but also confidence in problem-solving. My commitment is to make lessons clear, engaging, and tailored to each student’s pace, so even difficult topics become approachable. I believe teaching is more than just going through formulas—I focus on why things work, using visual tools, real-world examples, and consistent feedback so students truly understand, not just memorize. I welcome learners from middle school, high school, or early university levels who want to improve grades, prepare for exams, or strengthen foundational understanding. With me, you will always find patience, clarity, and genuine care: we’ll tackle mistakes together, celebrate every success, and build your skills step by step.

I start by diagnosing each student’s strengths and weaknesses (for example, by giving a short initial quiz or talking through what topics they find difficult) so I can tailor all lessons to their needs. I use a mix of explanation + worked examples + student practice + interactive feedback; when teaching Math, Physics, Chemistry or Trigonometry, I explain concepts clearly with visual tools (like digital board or diagrams) and then move to solving problems together before letting students attempt on their own. I also include frequent checks for understanding (questions, mini-quizzes), use of analogies/or real-life applications (especially in Physics/Chemistry), and encouragement so students build confidence as well as competence. Warm-up & Review ~ 5-10 min Go over homework or previous lesson’s topics; correct mistakes; ensure prerequisite understanding. Introduction to New Concept ~ 10-15 min Explain a new topic (e.g. a theorem in Trigonometry, a physics law, chemical reaction principle) using definitions, examples, visuals. Guided Practice ~ 15-20 min Solve example problems together; tutor leads solution while student asks questions. Independent Practice ~ 10-15 min Student attempts problems on their own; I observe & provide feedback. Assessment & Summary ~ 5-10 min Short quiz or checkpoint to assess understanding; summary of key points; assign homework or further problems. *What Sets Me Apart I have a Bachelor’s in Mathematics, which gives me strong foundational subject knowledge across the four areas (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Trig). My lessons are highly individualized: I adjust style, speed, and content to what the student specifically needs, rather than one-size-fits-all. I emphasize understanding why behind formulas/theories, not just memorizing; this helps students apply concepts in new problems and exams. I also focus on building confidence: many students feel intimidated by difficult topics, so I create a supportive atmosphere with patience and encouragement. Use of technology: virtual whiteboards, problem-solving tools, sometimes animations/demonstrations to make abstract ideas clearer. *Who the Lessons Are For Students from middle school, high school and early university levels who need help in Math, Physics, Chemistry and Trigonometry. Those preparing for exams (school tests, board exams, entrance tests) or wanting to strengthen fundamentals. Students who might have missed concepts and want remedial help, or those who want to go beyond classroom teaching (advanced problems, enrichment). I’m comfortable teaching anyone who has basic English comprehension and is motivated to engage; spacing and schedule can be adapted for students who need slower pace or extra practice. a supportive atmosphere with patience and encouragement. Use of technology: virtual whiteboards, problem-solving tools, sometimes animations/demonstrations to make abstract ideas clearer.
