About Phoebe
I’m an experienced mathematics teacher offering 1-hour, mastery-focused lessons for students aged 9 to 16. With over five years of teaching experience—including serving as Head of Mathematics—I specialize in helping students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts that lead to long-term confidence and exam success. I have worked with students in both one-to-one settings and larger classroom environments, across in-person and remote formats. My approach is supportive and confidence-building, and I’m proud to have helped many previously underperforming students make significant progress—often surpassing their target grades ahead of key exams. Because the student-tutor relationship is so important, I offer the first session free to ensure a good fit. My background includes extensive experience with UK qualifications such as the 11+, 13+, and GCSE. Given the strong alignment between the UK and NSW curricula, I’m well-placed to support students in both educational systems effectively

My lessons are fully personalised in both content and pace, carefully tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. Every programme begins with an initial session to assess the student’s strengths and areas for improvement, followed by a clear plan aligned with their goals or upcoming deadlines.
Fluency and problem-solving are central to every lesson. I use a blend of worked examples, continuous checks for understanding, and opportunities to apply knowledge in a problem-solving context.
Lessons are delivered online by default; however, in-person sessions may be available depending on location—please feel free to enquire if this is your preference.
