About Mohammed

My name is Mohammed, and I’m a Cambridge postgraduate with a First-Class (1:1) BSc Economics degree from the London School of Economics. I achieved 11 GCSEs (nine grade 9s and one grade 8) and A-Levels: A*A*A*A*, and I understand exactly what it takes to perform at the very top end of the mark scheme. I teach because I genuinely enjoy helping students realise they are capable of more than they think. Many students don’t struggle because they “aren’t smart” — they struggle because lessons move too fast, foundations are missing, or they haven’t been shown how to turn knowledge into exam marks. My job is to fix that quickly and properly: building confidence through clear explanations, structured practice, and consistent improvement. My lessons are professional, organised, and focused on results. I plan each session around the specification, explain concepts in a simple but rigorous way, and then train students to apply them under exam conditions. Students leave lessons knowing exactly what they’ve learned, what they need to improve, and how to improve it. Whether you’re preparing for 11+, GCSE, or A-Level, my aim is to make progress feel measurable and achievable — and to help you walk into your exams calm, prepared, and confident.

About the lesson

My name is Mohammed, and my tutoring style is structured, exam-driven, and fully personalised to the student in front of me. In terms of background, I studied BSc Economics at LSE (First Class / 1:1) and I’m currently completing a Master’s in Real Estate Finance at the University of Cambridge. Academically, I achieved 11 GCSEs (nine grade 9s and one grade 8), and A-Levels: A*A*A*A*, and I also went through the 11+ grammar school route, so I understand both selective exam preparation and long-term academic development. I teach by building understanding first, then turning that understanding into marks. Each topic starts with a clear breakdown of the core idea (so students know why something works), followed by worked examples, guided practice, and then timed exam questions. I use the specification as the backbone of our learning, so nothing is random and every lesson links directly to what the examiner can actually test. Alongside content, I coach exam technique—how to interpret command words, structure answers, show working efficiently, and avoid the common traps that cost easy marks. A typical lesson is 60 minutes. This usually includes: a quick check of prior learning, focused teaching of one key concept, exam-style practice, and a short recap with a clear target for the next session. For A-Level students or intense exam prep, longer sessions can work well. My lessons are for 11+, GCSE, and A-Level students—typically ages 10–18—especially those who want a clear plan, strong structure, and measurable progress in Maths and Economics (and related subjects where relevant). My aim is always the same: make the work feel simpler, raise confidence, and build the habits that turn into top grades.
