I'm a retired secondary maths teacher of 20 years experience in secondary school. I am now a private maths tutor and also a sessional GCSE and functional maths tutor for an adult learning outreach team in a sixth form college.

My teaching method is quite straightforward. I believe in explanation and demonstrating but nothing beats having a go yourself. No one should be frightened of making mistakes..... that's how we learn. There are many ways to learn.... watching, listening and doing. I believe part of teaching is building confidence and helping students understand what they are capable of.
I provide examples and worksheets with comprehensive feedback to enable students to progress or revisit a topic if necessary,
