About Abundance
As an LSA, working with student is something I thoroughly enjoy doing. I have always found joy in providing help and support for others, whether being helping out with a maths question or simply answering a burning question, this has always come naturally to me and its something I want to expand to reach a wide range of other students.
Being a mentor in college during my alevels has also helped me improve my skill in understanding and learning about a child. One thing that I believe that make a great tutor is not only the content of the subject but knowing the student as well. I have always found that teachers haven't built a real enough connection with students to be able to view the subject from their viewpoint.
Building a connection with a student allows you to understand what areas they struggle with but also why they struggle with it. This opens the doors for a solution that manages that problem leading to more efficient learning.

For me teaching is about interactions and active ways to link what you are learning to things that can help sustain that knowledge. I like to have a fun and engaging plan to teaching as Maths can become a bit boring.
Maths is one of those subjects that is always scary at first but when broke down into simple steps it becomes as easy as me finishing a pack of custard cream biscuits in under 20 mins.
