About Zak
Hi my name is Zak, I’m 20 and am from Kent. I am currently going into my 3rd year of medical school at the University of Birmingham and have been tutoring for over 3 years now, both privately and with a company. As a medical student I have primarily tutored maths and sciences at GCSE level as well as tutoring for the 11+ from the age of 17.

Having tutored many different kids over the past 3 years I understand that they all work in different ways and as such my tutoring methods are adaptable to whoever I am tutoring. I aim my sessions around you, any particular topics that are causing trouble we can focus on by going through the concepts, working on example questions as well as using mock papers to assess progress. I try to make sessions as engaging and enjoyable for students as possible as I know maintaining attention for that amount of time can be a struggle for some. I also like getting to know the kids I tutor a little better as building a good relationship inevitably leads to better engagement in sessions and thus better results.
Despite having to tutor over Zoom in these strange times, using my iPad I am able to interact with students in a similar manner to face to face teaching as I am able to use the whiteboard and pen to explain different topics.
