About Ashlee
I am an experienced nanny, camp counselor, classroom aide, and club lead who enjoys working with young students. I have been working with young kids for several years on a large scale and one on one. My passion for helping kids feel confident and empowered is what makes after-school and homework help so enjoyable. My goal is always to help students understand what they are learning and encourage curiosity and out of the box thinking.

I give lessons to elementary school students who may be struggling with homework, or just need someone to assist and help maintain focus. My lessons are based on what the individual student is currently working on in school. If a student is struggling with a specific subject or concept I can provide additional practice materials for those subjects and spend extra time in that area to ensure that the student understands. I like to encourage students to first try to solve problems on their own even if they don't feel like they can. I believe that in a lot of cases you learn more when you fail than when you get it right on the first attempt. I typically lead from behind and redirect the student if they are going in the wrong direction. My main goal with this method is to teach students that they are capable of figuring out problems on their own, but also making sure they are getting the concepts down by being there to answer questions or redirect.
