About Xi
I’m a native Mandarin speaker from China. I earned my BA in Archaeology at Nanjing University and am now continuing my studies in Cambridge. With over four years of bilingual teaching experience, I have helped students succeed in school exams as well as HSK, GCSE, and IELTS. With an academic background in culture, history, and language, I bring depth and context to my lessons, making learning both effective and enjoyable. My approach is flexible and learner-focused, designed to build confidence and real communication skills.

Tailored Chinese lessons for non-native learners of all levels, whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some foundation in Mandarin. Lessons are designed around each student’s goals and interests. Speaking - Focus on pinyin, pronunciation, and everyday conversations to speak confidently and naturally. Listening - Improve your listening through real-life conversations and audio materials to recognise tones and natural speech. Reading - Learn to read Chinese characters and understand cultural and historical stories behind that make learning fun. Writing - Practise character writing with clear guidance on stroke order and structure to build a solid foundation. Each lesson lasts between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours, depending on your goals and schedule. My aim is to make learning Chinese both enjoyable and rewarding — helping you make real progress while discovering the culture behind the language.
