About Maria

Hi, I’m Maria! I’m a native German and Spanish speaker with over four years of tutoring experience in German, English, Math, and Spanish. Teaching has always been something I really enjoy – I love seeing students make progress and gain confidence in their skills. Over the years, I’ve worked with learners of all ages, from primary school children to high school students preparing for their exams. My lessons are interactive, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. Sometimes that means working step by step through schoolwork, other times it’s practicing conversation in a fun, relaxed way. I believe learning works best when it feels motivating and personal, not just like “more homework.” A little bit about me: I grew up in Germany, but thanks to exchange programs I’ve also lived and studied in Ireland and Spain. This gave me the chance to experience different teaching and learning styles, which I now bring into my own tutoring. Most recently, during my work in Canada, I even taught Math and English to young learners in a sustainability program – which was a great experience! I recently graduated from high school in Germany (top 10% of my class) with advanced courses in Math, English, and Spanish. Apart from tutoring, I’ve also gained experience in marketing and customer support, but my real passion is working with people and helping them learn. I usually teach online (because it’s super flexible), but I’m also happy to do in-person lessons. From October 2025, I’ll be based in Auckland, New Zealand, during my Work and Travel year – and I’d love to meet students there as well. About the lesson

Hello! My name is Maria, and I am a native German speaker offering private tutoring in German, English, Mathematics, and Spanish. My teaching style and methodology: I focus on creating a clear, structured, and engaging learning environment that adapts to each student’s individual needs. I use interactive methods, practical examples, and personalized exercises to make sure that students not only understand the material but also feel confident applying it in real life. Lesson length: A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but I am flexible depending on your goals and preferences. My qualifications and experience: I have been tutoring for over four years and have worked with students of all ages and levels – from young learners to adults. My experience covers both school support and conversational practice, as well as exam preparation. Who my lessons are for: I welcome all age groups and levels – beginners, intermediate, or advanced learners. Whether you are looking to improve school grades, prepare for exams, or simply build your language skills, I can help. Location & availability: I offer lessons online (preferred for flexibility and convenience) or in person. Starting in October, I will be based in Auckland, New Zealand, during my Work and Travel year.
