About Siena
Hello future students! My name is Mengzhu, and you can also call me Sienna. I graduated from the University of Melbourne and have over six years of experience teaching Chinese. I have taught students of different ages and language levels in one-to-one lessons, small group classes and larger classrooms, including at a well-known Chinese language school in Melbourne.
I believe every student learns differently, so I focus on creating personalized lessons that suit each student’s needs. I enjoy encouraging students, building their confidence and helping them develop a genuine interest in learning Chinese. The most rewarding part of teaching is seeing students grow from being afraid to speak or lacking confidence in using Chinese to communicating naturally and becoming motivated to continue learning on their own.

• Every lesson is tailored to each student’s age, language level and learning goals. Whether you are a complete beginner, a VCE Chinese student, or an adult learning Mandarin for work, travel or personal interest, I will create a personalized learning plan that suits your needs.
• My lessons combine conversation, pronunciation, reading, writing and interactive activities to help students develop confidence in using Chinese in real-life situations.
• For students seeking a deeper understanding of the language, I also teach Chinese writing, reading comprehension, classical Chinese, poetry and Chinese culture.
• A typical lesson lasts 60–90 minutes, depending on the student’s age, learning goals and ability to absorb new content.
• Each lesson includes clear explanations, guided practice and personalized feedback. After every lesson, I provide lesson notes, vocabulary lists, worksheets, homework and revision materials to support continued learning and steady progress.
• My goal is to create a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment where every student enjoys learning Chinese and develops confidence in using the language.
