About Jesse

I have a diverse background that I believe can greatly benefit your learning experience.

During my time pursuing a master's degree in the United States, I had the privilege of serving as a teaching assistant for over a year. This experience not only honed my teaching skills but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for education.

As a native Chinese speaker, I am well-equipped to teach everyday language and help you become proficient in casual conversation. Additionally, with over five years of experience in the finance industry, I can provide valuable insights and instruction for those interested in learning business Chinese.

Beyond the classroom, my interests and hobbies include diving and skiing. I hold an Advanced Open Water (AOW) certification, which has allowed me to explore some of the world's most stunning underwater landscapes, from encountering hammerhead sharks in the waters of Malapascua to swimming with manta rays and whale sharks in the Maldives, and even exploring the famous Blue Hole in Saipan.

I'm also an avid snowboarder, and I welcome the opportunity to connect with my students over shared interests outside of the classroom. Learning a language can be more engaging when you have common passions to discuss. I look forward to not only teaching you Chinese but also sharing experiences and discussing our mutual interests.

About the lesson

My teaching style can be described as relaxed, lively, and deeply engaging. I believe that language learning should be an enjoyable experience, so I strive to create an atmosphere that fosters enthusiasm and active participation. I understand the importance of making the learning process both fun and educational.

In terms of subject expertise, I have a deep understanding of both business and everyday Chinese language. Having worked for over five years in the finance industry, I possess practical knowledge that I can share with my students to ensure that they learn relevant, real-world language skills.

One of my key strengths is my adaptability. I firmly believe that one size does not fit all when it comes to teaching. Each student is unique with their own learning style, pace, and objectives. As a result, I tailor my teaching materials and methods to suit the specific needs and goals of each student. This personalized approach ensures that my students achieve the most effective and efficient learning outcomes.
