About Lucia

I have been teaching languages for the past 6 years, meanwhile I have earned my BA in English Studies at the University of Oviedo, in Spain, with a year long stay at the university of Glasgow. I'm currently studying an MA in secondary education, also in Spain.
I have taught students of all ages, (from 2 to 80 years old!), both in person and now, online. I love teaching, as well as learning new languages. My own goal is to learn 5 languages by the time I'm 30, I'm currently at 4!
I'm currently teaching both Spanish and English online, as well as Business English, so my range is varied, I can take on anything!

About the lesson

I offer both individual and group classes to children and adults. If you want to learn with a friend send me a message and we will work out a price! (children's classes are 30 - 45 minutes)
I make sure my classes are entertaining and fit for the students' needs. During the first session we will get to know each other, establish your level, how you like to learn and what you're looking for exactly with these classes.

Adult classes
I use a communicative and intercultural approach, so that students understand not only how to use the language, but how to use it in context. The most important thing for me as a teacher is that my students develop confidence in speaking, so we will do a lot of conversation, learning vocabulary and expressions that are useful for any situation they might encounter. If the student wants, or needs to, we will also deal with grammar points, but I try not to make this the main focus of my classes.

I make all of my own materials, as well as incorporating videos, newspaper articles, magazines, etc.. so as to make the class more entertaining and relevant.

Children's classes

Children's classes are 30-45 minutes long, so as to fit their attention span! I love to make children's classes entertaining, using games, songs and different materials. It's always best to learn a language young! We will start from the basics, correcting pronunciation to make sure your child understand and uses the language correctly without even noticing. After each class I will send you feedback and materials for you to practice at home.

I teach through zoom, uploading the materials, notes and homework to a google drive for the student to have access to whenever they want, even after our classes have concluded.
