About Suhara
Hello! My name is Suhara Fernando, and I am an experienced Mathematics Tutor with over three years of experience teaching Primary, Lower Secondary, and GCSE Mathematics. I have worked with students from the UK curriculum through Third Space Global, helping them strengthen their mathematical understanding, improve their confidence, and achieve their academic goals.
I am currently completing the final stage of my Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Civil Engineering at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). My academic background has provided me with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which I incorporate into my teaching.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit individual learning styles and abilities. My teaching approach focuses on creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their confidence in Mathematics. I break down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps and use practical examples to make learning engaging and enjoyable.

My teaching approach focuses on building students' confidence and understanding of Mathematics through clear explanations, patience, and interactive learning. I believe every student can succeed in Mathematics when concepts are explained in a simple and engaging manner.
A typical lesson begins with a review of previously learned concepts, followed by the introduction of new topics using examples and guided practice. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson and provide step-by-step explanations to help them develop strong problem-solving skills. Lessons also include practice exercises, exam-style questions, and regular feedback to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
What sets me apart is my experience teaching students from the UK curriculum through Third Space Global for more than three years. This has allowed me to work with students of different abilities and learning styles while developing effective online teaching techniques. My background in Civil Engineering also enables me to demonstrate practical applications of Mathematics, making lessons more interesting and relevant.
My lessons are suitable for Primary Mathematics, Lower Secondary Mathematics, and GCSE Mathematics students.
