About Bebe

Hi, I'm Bebe, a dedicated online tutor with a passion for both academics and sports. As a first-class honours student in Business Economics Finance at Loughborough University, I've discovered that the joy of learning is not just in the outcome, but in the process itself. My aim in teaching is to share this perspective, transforming maths from a challenging subject into an exciting and enjoyable journey for my students. My two years of experience tutoring over 30 students online have honed my skills in making complex concepts accessible and engaging. Moreover, my involvement in football and boxing at university levels has equipped me with unique insights into teamwork, motivation, and leadership, all of which I bring to my tutoring sessions. This combination of academic expertise and sports enthusiasm allows me to connect with my students on multiple levels, keeping our interactions lively and relatable. About the lesson

In my tutoring approach, I prioritise understanding and engagement, especially when introducing a new topic. Each lesson starts with a conversation to gauge how much the student already knows about the subject. This initial step is crucial as it helps me tailor the lesson to the student's existing knowledge level. From there, we dive into the basics. I believe in starting with the simplest questions to build a foundation of confidence and establish a routine in answering. This step-by-step progression ensures that the student is comfortable with the basics before moving on to more complex problems. My teaching philosophy emphasises understanding the 'why' behind each concept, not just the 'how'. I ensure that the student grasps the reasoning behind each step before advancing to the next question. After working through the basics, we tackle a worksheet that covers the topic comprehensively. Once this is completed, we move on to a topic assessment, conducted under exam conditions. This practice is crucial for building exam readiness. After the assessment, we review the answers together, focusing particularly on any questions the student found challenging. During exam periods, the focus shifts more towards practising past papers. This not only helps in reinforcing the subject matter but also in understanding the exam format and improving time management skills. For questions that the student finds difficult, I break them down in a manner that aligns as closely as possible with their personal interests. This personalised approach not only aids in better understanding but also keeps the student engaged and makes learning more enjoyable. My goal is to create a learning environment where the student feels both challenged and supported, ensuring not just academic success but also a genuine interest in the subject.
