About Tori

Hi there! I'm Tori, I'm an opera singer and musical theater performer who teaches at every skill level, age, genre, and whatever you might bring to the table. We sing because we love it, and growing this love of singing is at the center of my teaching philosophy. My teaching style is centered on positivity and exploration in a safe environment. *All are welcome*.

Whether you're looking to improve your technique, expression, learn the anatomy of singing, or just preparing to bring the house down at karaoke night, I believe everyone can benefit from voice lessons. At the basis of my teaching is the idea that we simply have to LET ourselves sing, instead of MAKING ourselves sing.

Feel free to check out my website toritedeschiadams.com for more about me!
I received my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music and my Master of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

About the lesson

For the first lesson I like to take a little time to get to know you and learn about your goals. We will typically spend about half our time on warmups and exercises and half on your repertoire. I offer 30 min, 45 min, and 1 hour lessons, whatever is best for you.

We will work on technique, breathing, expression, diction, and singing in other languages if you're interested. You may bring songs you'd like to work on, otherwise I'm happy to make suggestions!

I am a teacher who will meet you where you're at, celebrate your successes, and tailor our lessons to you individually. I encourage my students to take risks and try new things, as well as to let me know when something isn't working or doesn't make sense. This is a safe space for speaking your mind, experimenting, and even failing! I think letting something fail is enormously brave after all.

Bottom line: our bodies know how to sing, we just have to let them. I can't wait to discover your full voice together!
