About Nicolette
I am a recent Oxford University graduate (Philosophy and Theology, 2017), currently studying for an MSc in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Edinburgh. I have guided several students through the UK university application process, specialising in the admissions process at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
While studying at Oxford, I ran the college’s Access and Outreach programme, and tutored many students towards high scores in the admissions tests and successful interviews. I offer practice interviews with extensive feedback in all humanities and arts subjects, English literature, and Arabic.
Having been through the process myself, I understand that it can be difficult to know where to start with preparation, and that the many stages of making an application can seem daunting! I'm happy to guide you through the process, supporting you at every stage from a place of experience.
FROM THE BEGINNING: If you're very early on in the process, and would like advice about wider reading and building up a strong academic profile, we can have weekly sessions working on building the foundations of an competitive personal statement, and a strong interview performance.
IN THE MIDDLE: I can help you in developing interview technique, work through methods to help you achieve high marks in the admissions tests. I have tutored the Philosophy Test and taken in myself, and have experience teaching for the TSA.
AT THE END: If you have an upcoming interview, and would like a practice run with detailed feedback and advice, I am extremely happy to offer this.
Recent successes under my tuition include an offer from the University of Cambridge for Geography and an University of Oxford offer for Theology and Religion.

My teaching method is based on the Oxbridge tutorial system, and I think it is incredibly beneficial to have experience of this before facing an interview, as they tend to follow this format!
The focus of my Oxbridge interview tuition is on building your confidence to speak academically and your ability to offer a critical perspective about what you’ve been reading. I can help you to come across as passionate about your subject, and teachable (the two key qualities that tutors are looking for!).
