About Oscar
I am an experienced tutor who is able to help with all aspects of learning, from understanding content and exam technique to management of stress and motivation. I enjoy working with my students and find it highly rewarding seeing them improve and hearing of their successes. I am currently studying medicine at university and had to gain the highest academic qualifications as well as perform in entry exams and interviews. During the period between GCSE, A Level and entry exams, I didn't always find it easy and had to learn how to manage myself, as well as the content, to achieve A* level. I have endless patience and realise that every student is different and requires a tailored approach as well as using proven techniques. My students have ranged from enthused extroverts needing specific help to those who are shy and demoralised and "don't get it". I respect student confidentiality but am also happy to provide feedback and guidance to parents when appropriate. My experience of teaching comes from a variety of subjects and situations. As the 6th form Biology scholar, I tutored school peers for A Levels as well as helped junior students in multiple subjects. I am now also helping students through the medical school application process. I am a qualified swimming teacher and have gained valuable experience through working with children of all ages and levels. I have reached grade 8 level at piano and have enjoyed passing on my learning and exam experience to music students.
