About Alexander
I am a physics educator with a BSc, MSc and PhD in Physics, and I am currently training as a PGCE Secondary Physics teacher in the UK. I have over 15 years of experience teaching and leading science education, working with students of varied abilities and supporting them to achieve strong outcomes and deeper scientific understanding. I choose to teach because I believe physics is not only a powerful subject intellectually, but a gateway to opportunity — and students achieve more when they are supported with clear explanation, structure, and patient guidance. You can expect lessons that are planned with care, led with professionalism, and designed around your goals with evidence-based methods. My commitment is to create a learning space where you feel respected, confident, and capable of mastering the subject.

My approach to tutoring is structured, calm, and diagnostic. I begin by identifying misconceptions through short questions or recall tasks, then build understanding using clear explanations, models, and worked examples before moving to guided practice. I combine retrieval practice, dual coding, and step-by-step scaffolding so that students gain confidence and long-term mastery rather than short-term memorisation. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, beginning with a quick recall starter, followed by a focused teaching segment, practice with feedback, and a short exit question to check progress. I adapt pace and materials to the learner’s ability, using exam-style questions where appropriate to build exam fluency. I hold a BSc, MSc, and PhD in Physics and I am currently a PGCE Secondary Physics trainee with 15 years’ classroom experience. I tutor GCSE and A-Level students, as well as adult learners who need support with physics for resits, university entry, or teacher training tests. My lessons suit learners who want structured explanations, exam readiness, and patient support to strengthen confidence and performance in physics.
