About Joseph
Hi, I’m Joe — a Philosophy graduate from the University of Sheffield with experience supporting students one-on-one in UK schools. I’ve always loved asking deep questions and exploring complex ideas, and tutoring gives me the chance to help others do the same.
I offer a calm, collaborative learning environment where we focus on what you need — whether that’s structuring essays, improving argument clarity, preparing for exams, or just understanding tricky concepts like ethics, metaphysics, or epistemology. I aim to make abstract ideas feel more approachable and relevant to your studies and goals.
I’ve helped students build confidence in their thinking and writing, and I’d love to help you do the same. Our sessions can include tailored summaries and key philosophical terms to help reinforce understanding and track your progress.
Feel free to get in touch for a free introduction session — let’s talk about what you're working on.

What we discus in lessons is a collaborative process, where the topics we discus will be those that you wish to learn more about. My lessons are aimed at students preparing for A level/ GCSE, and tend to be 1hr, but can also be longer.
In our lessons, we’ll take a collaborative approach tailored to your needs. Whether you're aiming to improve your essay writing, deepen your understanding of specific philosophical topics, or prepare for exams, I’ll work with you to help build clarity and confidence.
We might focus on analysing past essay questions, practicing how to structure strong arguments, and planning responses together. If you're working on coursework or revision, I can guide you through structuring ideas and using relevant key terms. We’ll also explore philosophical texts where needed — reading and unpacking them together to develop your critical thinking and essay support material.
I hold a BA in Philosophy from the University of Sheffield, where I developed a strong foundation in argument analysis, essay writing, and navigating complex ideas — skills I aim to share in a practical, down-to-earth way.
Lessons are discussion-based, flexible, and shaped by what you’re currently studying or struggling with.
