About Raniah

Hi there! I'm a college freshman at Texas Woman's University where I am continuing my musical education and studying piano under private instruction.
My musical journey began nine years ago through private lessons and independent study. Since then, my passion for piano has continued to grow, eventually leading me to audition and earn acceptance into the music program at TWU.
Piano is one of my greatest passions, and I love helping others discover the joy of making music! My goal as a teacher is to provide personalized lessons tailored to each student's learning styles. I strive to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace.
I welcome beginner to intermediate level students of all ages! Whether just beginning or picking up where you left off, I am excited to work with you and help you develop your skills and confidence! It's never too early or too late to start your musical journey!

I believe that every student learns differently, which is why I tailor my lessons to fit each student's individual needs, abilities, and goals. For new students, I begin by getting to know them and assessing their current skill level and interests. This will allow me to better understand a student's strengths and areas where they can grow. After that, I will create a lesson plan personalized to help them develop a musical foundation, build confidence, and make steady progress.
For students with prior experience, I will assess their current skill level and select appropriate repertoire and exercises to help them continue growing as musicians. If there is a particular song a student wants to work on, I will help them break it down into manageable sections while teaching the musical concepts and techniques needed to play it successfully!
Each lesson will be focused on music theory, rhythm, and piano pedagogy. Students will be assigned exercises and repertoire that allows them to put what we learn during lessons into practice. I find the Alfred piano method books to be especially helpful for developing a strong foundation in piano fundamentals.
I strive to make each lesson productive and enjoyable while allowing students to progress at a pace that works for them. My goal is to help students establish a strong musical foundation, grow in confidence, and develop an appreciation for music!
