About David
With almost twenty years experience I have taught mostly within key stage 2 but have accrued a lot of experience teaching and supporting in key stage 1. I have taught many years in Year Six preparing the top set for their SATs tests pushing them to achieve their full potential, and in many cases exceeding their targets. This has been achieved by showing how their knowledge and understanding can be applied. During this time I have developed and collected a wide range of resources which are both real, exciting and challenging.

I have almost 20 years experience of teaching in primary education. I have always has an interest in maths since being at school myself. I have challenged myself to increase the range of strategies at my disposal in order to enable my students to find the best method to suit their learning style. I have led the subject within the schools I've worked in and been responsible to developing the knowledge and understanding of my colleagues. I believe in the benefits of ensuring the basic skills are secure before that understanding can be used to solve problems by applying these skills in unison. Most of all I hope to generate an enjoyment and passion for maths in young people, that will enable them to approach tricky situations with confidence and determination.
