About Tatiana

My name is Tatiana, and I am a former professional chess player from Russia with many years of experience playing and studying the game. I have competed in international chess tournaments, which has given me a strong strategic foundation, disciplined thinking, and a deep understanding of chess at both practical and competitive levels.

Chess has played an important role in my life, not only as a competitive sport but also as a tool for developing focus, logic, and confidence. Alongside my playing experience, I take a professional, structured, and supportive approach to teaching, ensuring that each student feels comfortable, motivated, and encouraged to progress.

I am a reliable and well-organised tutor who prepares carefully for each lesson and adapts my teaching style to suit the individual student. I value clear communication and a positive learning environment, where students can ask questions freely and enjoy the process of learning.

I work with children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to intermediate players, and I tailor lessons to each student’s goals — whether that is learning chess for enjoyment, improving competitive skills, or developing stronger strategic thinking.

My aim is to share not only my knowledge of chess, but also my genuine enthusiasm for the game, helping students build confidence and long-term enjoyment.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching chess is focused on building understanding, enjoyment, and confidence. I believe chess should be engaging and motivating, not overwhelming, so I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, goals, and personality.

I start by understanding the student’s current playing strength and areas they would like to improve. Lessons typically include a combination of key principles, practical examples, game analysis, and guided practice. For beginners, I focus on foundations such as piece coordination, basic tactics, and strategic thinking. For intermediate players, lessons involve deeper analysis, planning, and learning how to think independently during a game.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, which allows enough time for explanation, practice, and discussion. Shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student’s age and concentration level.

I am a former professional chess player from Russia with experience competing in international tournaments. Chess has been an important part of my life for many years, and I enjoy sharing not only technical knowledge but also a genuine love for the game.

My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to intermediate players.
