I am a fully qualified MFL (modern foreign languages) teacher with 17 years of experience teaching French, German and Spanish in UK comprehensive secondary schools.
Throughout my classroom career, I have guided hundreds of Year 10 and Year 11 students through their GCSEs - from those struggling to pass, to top-tier candidates aiming for grades 8 and 9. In addition to my years in the classroom, I have direct experience working as an official GCSE exam marker. This insider knowledge allows me to teach students the exact grammar structures, vocabulary and exam techniques that AQA and Edexcel are looking for when awarding top marks.
Whether your child lacks confidence in their speaking exam, struggles with complex grammar for the writing paper, or needs structured revision strategies, I provide a patient, encouraging and highly effective learning environment tailored to their individual needs.

About the lesson

I offer structured, tailored private tuition designed to take the panic out of GCSE exams and build confidence in language learning, particularly in speaking and listening.
Every lesson is planned around the student’s exam board specification, target grade and specific areas for development.
How lessons are structured
We cover all four exam components - reading, writing, speaking and listening - so there are no surprises on exam days.
Speaking exam mastery
We will practise photo card descriptions, role plays and general conversation until speaking feels natural and fluid. We recycle key phrases across tenses to ensure that complex language criteria are met.
Grammar & vocabulary hacks: I teach clear, memorable frameworks for tenses, vocabulary and synonyms that directly translate to higher marks in writing papers.
Exam technique and past papers
We work through real examiner mark schemes so students learn exactly what examiners look for to award top marks.
