About Kristal
Hi, I’m Kristal, an experienced educator, tutor, advocate, and support coach with over 12 years of experience working with students and families. My background in education and special education support has allowed me to help diverse learners build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and overcome learning challenges in a supportive and encouraging environment. I am passionate about helping students grow both academically and emotionally while creating lessons tailored to their unique learning needs.

My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, structured, and interactive. I use evidence-based strategies, differentiated instruction, reading intervention techniques, guided practice, positive reinforcement, and confidence-building support to help students feel successful and motivated while learning. I also focus on helping students strengthen reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, writing skills, organization, and overall academic confidence.
A typical lesson may include:
• Reading fluency and comprehension practice
• Vocabulary and writing support
• Guided reading and discussion
• Interactive learning activities
• Study and organization strategies
• Confidence-building and encouragement
What sets me apart is my background in special education, reading intervention, advocacy, and student support. I create a calm and supportive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, grow at their own pace, and develop confidence in their abilities. My goal is not only to improve academic skills, but also to help students feel encouraged, capable, and successful in their learning journey.
