About Esme
I am a Piano tutor with over 19 years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages, from young school learners to college students and working professionals. Over the years, I have helped students build not only technical skills but also confidence, creativity, and a deep appreciation for music. I strongly believe that learning piano should be a structured, enjoyable, and inspiring journey for every student.
My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding each student’s unique goals and learning style. I emphasise building a strong foundation in piano skills, including finger technique, hand coordination, rhythm, sight reading, and basic music theory. At the same time, I encourage creativity and self-expression, allowing students to explore music in a way that is personal and enjoyable. I explain lessons in simple language, using practical exercises and familiar songs to make concepts easy to understand and apply.
I tailor lessons to each student’s age, level, and objectives. For children, I make lessons fun and interactive to maintain interest. For adults and professionals, I provide structured sessions that are goal-oriented and flexible, fitting into busy schedules. I also guide students on effective home practice and performance preparation.
Over the years, many of my students have performed confidently in school and college events, passed graded exams, and developed lifelong musical skills. Seeing my students grow and succeed is the most rewarding aspect of my teaching.

I follow a teaching methodology rooted in compassion, communication, and supportiveness. I believe that every student learns in a unique way, and my role is to tailor lessons to match their pace, style, and goals. In piano lessons, I combine structured exercises with creative exploration to help students develop technical skill, musical understanding, and confidence.
I break down complex concepts into simple steps, provide demonstrations, and encourage active participation and practice. I celebrate achievements, offer constructive feedback, and create a nurturing environment that motivates students to keep improving.
I also teach other relevant subjects using the same adaptable and supportive approach, ensuring that every lesson is interactive, engaging, and meaningful. My aim is to help students grow academically and creatively while developing confidence and a lifelong passion for learning and self-expression.
