About Rowan
Hi! I’m Rowan, a UK Science teacher specialising in Biology, Physics and Chemistry tutoring for KS3 and GCSE students. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and realise that science does not have to feel overwhelming or intimidating.
I currently teach Secondary Science while completing my PGCE and QTS training, alongside several years of experience supporting SEND and neurodivergent learners. My teaching style focuses on breaking complex ideas into manageable steps using visual learning, retrieval practice and real-world examples.
I particularly enjoy helping students who struggle with confidence, anxiety or feeling “left behind” in science lessons. I believe every student can succeed when learning is adapted to suit how they think and process information.
My goal is to create calm, supportive lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions, building understanding and developing confidence in their own ability.

I offer online KS3 and GCSE Biology, Physics and Chemistry tutoring for students aged 11–16, including support for SEND, anxious and neurodivergent learners. My lessons are designed to build confidence, reduce overwhelm and make science feel more accessible and manageable.
I currently teach Secondary Science while completing my PGCE and QTS training, alongside several years of experience working within SEND and SEMH education. My teaching approach focuses on breaking complex scientific ideas into smaller, understandable steps using visual learning, retrieval practice, dual coding and real-world examples.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are adapted to suit each student’s needs, whether they require exam preparation, confidence building, revision support or help understanding difficult topics. I aim to create calm, supportive sessions where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
I particularly enjoy helping students who feel they are “not good at science” discover that they simply need concepts explained in a way that works for them.
