About Niamh
As a fully qualified secondary teacher with two years of classroom experience, I bring a calm, nurturing and supportive approach to every lesson. I currently teach National 5 and Higher courses, so I understand both the course content and the pressures pupils can face.
I aim to create a positive, encouraging environment where pupils feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence over time. I take the time to get to know each learner, adapting my approach to suit their individual needs, pace and learning style.
My focus is not just on improving attainment, but on helping pupils feel more assured in their own ability. Parents and pupils can expect clear communication, consistent support and a genuine commitment to helping each young person succeed

I take a structured, pupil-centred approach to tutoring, focusing on building secure subject knowledge alongside the exam skills required for National 5 and Higher. My lessons combine clear explanation, modelling of answers, and regular exam-style practice with targeted feedback.
Sessions typically last 60 minutes and are tailored to each learner’s needs, whether that is consolidating content, improving essay writing, or developing source analysis. I adapt pace and approach depending on confidence and ability, ensuring pupils feel supported but appropriately challenged.
I am a fully qualified secondary teacher with two years’ classroom experience teaching History, Modern Studies and RE, and have also provided one-to-one tuition with a strong track record of improving attainment and confidence.
