About Peter

I am actually a Chartered Civil Engineer and took my teaching qualification later on in life as what I have always enjoyed is maths. Hopefully this enthusiasm comes across in my lessons. I started tutoring when a former colleague moved to another school. She was not allowed to tutor pupils at her own school so I taught her. I enjoyed it so much that I then started tutoring her friends. Eventually I left full time teaching so that I could tutor full time.

About the lesson

I always ask the student to let me know what topic they want to cover and usually have to remind them of this the day before. I also ask them to take a photo, if possible, of questions they have got wrong and Whatsapp them to me before the lesson so we can through it together. I am happy to set and mark homework though some students prefer not to do this. Most students learn by repetition so I often ask questions on topics that we have recently covered.
