About Siobhan

Hi, I’m Siobhán! I am a friendly, approachable, and encouraging teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Limerick and four years of experience teaching in a secondary school.

I genuinely love working with students and helping them build their confidence and reach their goals. I believe that learning should be enjoyable, and I always try to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn.

I particularly enjoy helping students build their confidence in Irish, especially with oral Irish, and I am also passionate about breaking down difficult topics into simple, manageable steps. My background in Physical Education, along with my qualifications in Personal Training and Strength & Conditioning, also gives me a strong foundation for supporting students studying LCPE.

While I am new to online tutoring, I am enthusiastic about bringing my experience as a classroom teacher into an online setting. I am committed to getting to know each student, understanding how they learn best, and putting in the time and effort to provide lessons that are tailored to their individual needs.

About the lesson

I believe that every student learns differently, so my approach to tutoring is centred around finding what works best for each individual student. I aim to create a relaxed, positive and enjoyable learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their confidence.

I have four years of teaching experience in a secondary school, teaching Irish at both Higher and Ordinary Level, as well as Physical Education and LCPE. I have worked with students across a range of ages and abilities and have experience supporting students with both their understanding of the subject and exam preparation.

My lessons are interactive and student-focused. I use a variety of techniques including discussion, questioning, examples, practice activities and exam-style questions. I also like to make learning fun and engaging, while adapting each lesson to suit the student's individual needs and goals.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although I am happy to adapt the length depending on the student's age and needs. I am available to tutor secondary school students, including Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate students.

My goal is for every student to leave each lesson feeling more confident, having a better understanding of the topic and knowing what they need to work on to reach their goals.
