About Jonathan
Born in Hong Kong and now based in London, Jonathan Yang is a sound artist, performer, and singer-producer-songwriter. An artist of sound and motion, Jonathan works where breath meets rhythm, where listening becomes a way of moving through the world.
His current practice explores conditions for presence, environments where audience and performer co-exist in states of attention and reciprocity. Musically, his work mutates between electronic experimentation and acoustic textures ranging from intimate indie folk-pop to deconstructed and expressionistic music.
He wrote albums, curated, composed for and performed in: "Amalgamation" LP (2024), “YESTERDAYS IMPRESSIONS” LP (2022) and “It’s Time I Head South” EP (2017); Dance theatre works “VENT!” (2022) and “CCLAB I II III” (2021); Multimedia installation trilogy “Follow The Trail” (2022), “Light…all you see is light” (2021) and “Asylum” (2015); Music for Student Oscar nominee animation “The Sun Is Bad” (2023); “Peak Hour In The House” (2024) screen dance project, "Dear Adult" (2024) dance theatre piece and featured in another screen dance project “MAKEMECRY” (2023) to name a few.
