About Isabel
Isabel Ferguson is a recent graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts. During her time at LVA, she competed in several vocal competitions including the National Association of Teachers of Singing Regional and National Competitions and the Schmidt Vocal Competition. This past Summer of 2019, Isabel attended the Schmidt Vocal Institute where she studied with world-famous professional musicians. Isabel's singing has taken her to the Sydney Opera House in Australia, Carnegie Hall in New York City, and the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria. Currently, she is enrolled at UNLV studying Vocal Performance and looks forward to performing in the UNLV Opera Theater production of Orpheus in the Underworld in the Spring and Die Zauberflöte as a chorus singer with Opera Las Vegas this Summer.

As a vocalist, technique is my number one priority for a healthy singer. I go through the fundamental basics including posture alignment, breath control, and proper engagement of support muscles. It is crucial for singers to have the correct set up, so they do not experience any vocal strain or tension. An important concept taught will also be the process of learning music from the basic notes and rhythms to the bigger meaning and purpose behind the composer’s music, but only the first steps can be taken in order to ensure a correct foundation for your singing and good vocal health!
