About Willa
Teaching singing is more than technique for me—it’s about discovering the musical power of the human voice. With over 5 years of teaching experience and a BA in Ethnomusicology (Vocal Traditions), I specialize in helping singers understand and create beautiful vocal harmonies.
My passion is vocal arrangement. I love stacking harmonies, building layered textures, and helping singers hear how different vocal parts interact to form something bigger than a single melody.
In lessons we explore styles like A Cappella, Pop, Gospel, and R&B. I guide students through vocal blending, counter-melodies, harmony construction, and practical arranging methods used by professional vocal groups.
I also bring creativity into the process through improvisation and composition. Students learn how to experiment confidently and craft their own vocal ideas.
With knowledge of music history and music technology, I help students connect tradition with modern production techniques. Whether recording harmonies or performing live, these skills open new creative doors.
I welcome learners from school level to aspiring professionals. If you’re excited about exploring harmonies and shaping your own vocal sound, I’d love to work with you.

My approach to teaching singing combines musical skill with vocal care. I believe singers should learn how to use their voice confidently while protecting it for the long term.
In lessons we focus on breath control, tone placement, pitch accuracy, and vocal strength. Students also learn harmony singing, counter-melodies, and arranging techniques.
I place a strong focus on vocal stamina. Many singers rehearse and perform frequently, so we train the voice to stay steady and strong during long sessions.
Understanding vocal fatigue is also important. I teach singers how to notice early warning signs and adjust their technique before strain happens.
Warm-ups and cool-down routines are part of every singer’s toolkit. These routines help the voice stay flexible before and after performances.
For singers working in ensembles, we work on blending, listening, and supporting the group sound while maintaining vocal health.
We also cover topics like hydration, vocal rest, and maintaining a balanced practice schedule.
The goal is not just improvement, but sustainability. A well-cared-for voice can support a lifetime of music.
