About Emmett

My journey with Spanish began as a student myself — captivated by its rhythm, warmth, and expressiveness. Over the last eight years, that fascination has turned into a fulfilling teaching career that allows me to share not just a language, but a culture. I’ve taught everyone from absolute beginners to advanced speakers preparing for professional exams, and each new learner reminds me why I love this work. My approach to teaching is adaptive and relational. I create a comfortable environment where students feel free to make mistakes and grow from them. I incorporate films, songs, and personal storytelling to make lessons engaging and memorable. I aim to make every class an experience of discovery — one that builds not just vocabulary, but confidence and appreciation for communication. Outside teaching, I immerse myself in Hispanic literature, music, and travel to stay connected to the culture I teach. For me, Spanish teaching is not about repetition — it’s about resonance. Each student’s progress is a story I feel honored to help write, one conversation at a time.

About the lesson

My Spanish lessons are centered around authentic communication — speaking, listening, and thinking like a native. Language comes alive when it’s connected to real experience, so I weave culture, music, and storytelling into every class. Each lesson builds not just linguistic accuracy, but confidence and curiosity about the world Spanish represents.

Beginners start with pronunciation, core grammar, and daily conversation. Intermediate learners practice fluid speech, verb conjugation, and cultural topics through dialogues and readings. Advanced students refine their writing, comprehension, and idiomatic expression, often diving into literature and regional variations. I ensure that lessons move at the right pace, with exercises designed to engage creativity as well as intellect.

What I love most is watching how language transforms people. I’ve seen students discover a love for travel, art, and connection through Spanish — gaining not just fluency but a broader worldview. Language teaches empathy, courage, and open-mindedness. My goal is to help students find their voice in Spanish — to communicate with authenticity and confidence, and to carry that sense of connection into their lives.
